Purpose of the position:
The candidate will oversee the completion of clerical and administrative tasks at the
retail outlet.

Senior Plant Operator – LICHTENBURG

Purpose of Position:
As a Senior Plant Operator at Epko, your primary responsibility is to skillfully operate and control the plant, ensuring the efficient extraction of oil and meal from seeds while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives:
 Utilize the SCADA system to control the crushing plant, achieving excellent budgeted yields and product quality.
 Interpret quality results, taking corrective/preventative action to guarantee the final product’s high quality.
 Conduct machine setup, adjustment, and maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
 Perform plant inspections during stoppages, implementing corrective actions promptly.
 Act as Shift Manager in their absence, showcasing experience and exceptional performance.

SHIFT MILLWRIGHT – LICHTENBURG

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To maintain equipment integrity and efficiency by: preventing machine failures through preventative and predictive maintenance practices; repair equipment to a high standard. Minimise equipment/production downtime. Maintain an environment that conforms to Safety, Health and Environmental standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Plant Engineer in reaching engineering and plant KPI’s in terms of machine availability and machine condition
  • Repair electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment
  • Preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment
  • Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
  • Adjust plant equipment to ensure efficiency
  • Increase plant quality and efficiency
  • Perform effective fault finding and restoration on equipment
  • Assist management with the implementation of standards and systems
  • Housekeeping duties
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations as per OHS Act
  • Adhere to SHERQ standards
  • Perform stand-in duties for other shift artisans that are on leave
  • Work overtime if required
  • Collaborate with various other departments to maintain mechanical integrity of all plant processes and equipment
  • Perform root cause analysis on failures and implement preventative measures
  • Support the production function

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A recognised Millwright trade test certificate as obtained in South Africa
  • N3 Engineering qualification as a minimum
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance experience in a FMCG environment
  • Optional – Basic knowledge on the operation of a Crushing and Solvent Extraction and Effluent Plant.

BOILER OPERATOR – LICHTENBURG

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position operate the boiler in an efficient and legal compliant manner to
ensure continuos operation of the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Operating the boiler within the design and authorised parameters
 Operating the boiler as per standards and procedures – as contemplated in the OHS Act.
 Performing all scheduled inspections accurately
 Recording all operating parameters as per the operator checklist and operating record
 Emergency procedures and the activation thereof.
 Boiler operation maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
 Must be in possession of a Grade 12 Certificate
 Mathematics at Grade 10 level minimum

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
 Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a boiler operation or assistant boiler operator OR
 Minimum of 4 years experience as a production operator/assistant operator
 Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
 Reliability and timekeeping is critical since the boiler operation is legal appointment
