It is a full-time, permanent position within the South Africa – Cash Solutions unit of G4S. The role falls under the Cash Division and the reference number is G4S/TP/7891978/225177.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage the distribution of all cash bags and containers, including counting, balancing, packing, and reconciling customers’ cash.
- Oversee the receiving and distribution of bags and containers to different areas.
- Ensure all receipting is completed accurately and that daily work is processed and cleared in the system.
- Verify the accuracy of information on the bags and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Carry out day-to-day operations and ensure secure, timely, and accurate processing of customer deposits.
- Help prepare customer coin and cash orders and operate high-speed equipment.
- Track deposits in internal systems and identify and report customer cash differences promptly.
- Cross-train in various processes to support all Cash Processing services.
- Sort cash and coins, verify bulk money, and balance transaction totals.
Training & Health and Safety:
- Complete all compliance and role-specific training and follow procedures related to cash and coin handling.
- Maintain trust and responsibility, participate in safety forums, report incidents, and attend safety education programs.
- Comply with safety policies, wear protective clothing, and uphold health and safety standards.
Ideal Candidate: Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 with mathematics or accounting background.
- 1-3 years of relevant teller experience preferred, with a solid grasp of basic financial principles. Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in computer usage and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strict adherence to policies and procedures, customer-oriented mindset, and ability to work in teams.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, and capability to handle heavy weights and work under pressure.
