Purpose of the Position
- To build and maximise the equity of the SuperSport Schools brand
- To define the overarching commercials strategy and guide the implementation thereof
- Develop and manage all aspects of the commercials function, providing guidance for all expansion partnerships to stakeholders

Work with partners to develop joint marketing campaigns and promotions
Manage Financial Performance
Develop and manage budgets, including revenue and expense forecasts

Develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize profitability
Provide Leadership and Support to Sales Team

Relevant Business Post Graduate Qualification

Experience

Purpose of the Position
To assist in the execution of the production activities required to deliver high quality sporting broadcasts for the Channel aligned to the Standards of the SuperSport brand.
Key Area Outputs
Pre-production planning for studio, galleries and SCCR

Make sure content of Build-ups, inserts and live events meets requirements of target audience whilst remaining sensitive to the current political situation as per SuperSport guidelines
Ensure content meets standards of SuperSport Brand
Inform and prepare team on research to be conducted and communication of correct information regarding content
Ensure appropriate presenters and guests are sourced, trained and hired based on their knowledge, expertise and contribution and in compliance with

Budget Management
Make sure cost effective use of resources and that productions stays within budget
Make sure targets are met as per department requirements
Ensure relevant parties are informed regarding billing requirements
Supervisory
Keep staff up to date of current performance (positive performance and development areas) through ongoing timeous feedback and formal performance reviews
Production Process
Facilitate thorough pre-production resulting in all production elements being completed and available on time
Make sure production format includes contingency plans
Accurate running orders – all staff fully understand their function in the production
Post production – all relevant paperwork is completed and submitted.
Qualifications
Equivalent NQF Level 6 Qualification, Diploma or Degree
Experience/Skills
A minimum of 3 to 5 Years’ experience working in a production environment or similar
Sound knowledge and understanding of live broadcasting, pre and post-production
Proven experience in other departments in television

Crew Scheduling
- Perform end to end scheduling activities of operational crew in the OB environment, maintaining a balance between cost efficiency, business rules, scheduling guidelines and production requirements.
- Ensure that bookings of production crew are made accurately on SOBER.
- Ensure regular communication with relevant Camera and EVS Supervisors to review crew booking schedules on both monthly and weekly cadences to ensure accurate skill allocation across all productions and minimize last-minute crew adjustments.
- Ensure proper and accurate maintenance of crew personal data, schedules and availability on SOBER.
- Maintain regular communication channels with Event Facilitators, ensuring efficient communication of crew changes and updates on productions and any special crew arrangements on specific events.
- Efficient communication of schedules and call times in the OB environment with the OB crew
- Ensure that all crew members possess the appropriate seasonal accreditations for various sporting genres. Update the accreditation portals seasonally.
- Act as a first point of contact with the freelancer operators on HR, SOBER and admin related queries
Compliance
- Operate within a given budget to determine and ensure that the financial requirements can be met
- Perform in accordance with the business processes and policies and SOP’s.

Qualification:

Purpose of the Position
- To ensure a well-executed planning process on all Outside Broadcast (OB) events by managing all outputs and expectations of Event Facilitators, with regards to planning of productions, logistics for personnel and vendor suppliers with Productions aligned to SuperSport standards.

Operations
- Continuously maintain the functionality of support operational systems (SOBER), processes and policies to support effective management reporting, scheduling information flow and reconciliations.
- Ensuring that Event Facilitators formulate and implement operational policies, procedures and protocols, which contribute to an efficient working environment and is enforced at all levels on productions, in accordance with governance and compliance.
- Supervise a team of Event Facilitators to ensure they carry out effective support to the division through various identified deliverables.
- Ensure the implementation of the disaster recovery plan for the live productions on site and updating the action plan on a regular basis, according to the different scenarios in consultation with line management.
- Ensure that all productions are reconciled according to divisional deadlines.
- Check all S&T, permanent staff timesheets, ISP payment reports and ensure that all submissions are accurate for monthly payroll.
- Contribute towards the formulation of SOPs for the department.
- Prepare OB facility quotes for internal and external clients.
Budget Management
- Oversee the utilization of suppliers to ensure the team implement cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Control the scheduling of Event Facilitators to minimize overtime and expenses incurred.
- Efficiently schedule all OB Kombis on monthly basis to ensure crew travel costs.
- Ensure that POs and invoices are captured and billed on time and finance deadlines are met.
- Consider alternate suppliers in line with due-diligence and compliance processes for competitive solution offerings.
- Provide the line manager and finance with monthly Credit Card recons.
- To ensure all costs are captured accurately, upon reconciling for budget reporting.
- Negotiating with vendors/suppliers to drive cost efficiencies whilst maintaining a healthy working relationship.
- Drive revenue generation initiatives through securing external clients for the Tech Ops division. Domestic and International clients that require OB facility and crew hire.
People Management
- Oversee Event Facilitators to ensure effective delivery of business unit objectives.
- Measure and track team member performance and output against delivery of business goals and objectives.
- Provide ongoing support feedback, or corrective measures where and when required within managing the team.
- Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching.
- Determine and analyse development needs for the team and communicate the identified training requirements to the line manager.
- Be closely involved, with the line manager, in Interviewing and recruiting new members of the team.
- Approve leave requests for team members and create a leave plan to ensure adequate coverage.
- Set team KPI’s, goals and objectives address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance Improvement Programme.
- Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognized
- Drive a culture of continuous and transparent communication to all levels of employees.
- Submit weekly consolidated feedback reports to line manager related productions, scheduling, rosters and changes to the operating environment.
- Ensure efficient and effective two-way communication processes and channels are in place for operational communication.
- Drivecheck in’s, meetings, and one-on-ones sessions with the Event Facilitator team.
