The Department of Employment and Labour is looking for a professional Telecom Operator to join the Gqeberha Labour Centre. This role is essential for maintaining efficient telephonic communication and supporting administrative functions within the Eastern Cape provincial operations.

Telecom Operator | Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate.
  • License: A valid driver’s license (added advantage).
  • Knowledge Base:
    • Familiarity with Departmental policies and procedures.
    • Labour Legislation, Employment Services Act, and Public Service Act.
    • Understanding of Batho Pele Principles.
  • Essential Skills:
    • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
    • Computer literacy and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal and interviewing skills.
    • Ability to interpret relevant legislation.

Telecom Operator | Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Telephonic Services: Render an effective and efficient switchboard and telephonic service for the Labour Centre.
  • Administrative Support: Provide necessary assistance to Management Support Services (MSS) functions.
  • Client Relations: Act as the first point of contact for telephonic inquiries, ensuring professional service delivery.
