The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) is seeking two suitably qualified and competent Administrators: SETA Learning Programmes. These roles provide critical administrative support to ensure the efficiency of the Learning Programmes unit and support the execution of the MICT SETA’s national strategy.

Role Overview

The incumbents will report to the Manager: Learning Programmes and will be responsible for data validation, grant administration, and audit compliance.

SETA Learning Programmes Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12 plus a National Diploma (NQF 6) in Education, Human Resources Development, HRM, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: 1–2 years in Administration; minimum 1 year experience in Skills Development.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with SETA legislations, office management, and basic accounting principles.
  • Travel: Must have a valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle; must be willing to travel and work long hours when required.

SETA Learning Programmes Key Responsibilities

1. Information & Data Administration

  • Consolidate SETA Learning programme reporting indicators.
  • Audit QMR (Quarterly Monitoring Report) inputs and validate data accuracy against SETMIS files.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for management.
  • Verify learner registration documents and liaise with Training Providers for outstanding info.
  • Capture discretionary grant applications on the Management Information System (MIS).

2. Learning Programmes Administration

  • Administer disbursements of discretionary grants.
  • Maintain and update the Annual Commitment Register daily to track invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile registered vs. enrolled learners for quarterly comparisons.
  • Verify Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and budget availability.

3. Risk, Compliance & Auditing

  • Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing evidence and samples.
  • Implement audit findings within stipulated timeframes.
  • Maintain quality risk management standards and enforce SLAs to minimize business risk.
  • Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure business optimization.

4. Customer Liaison & Service

  • Handle queries from the DHET regarding SETMIS submissions.
  • Provide prompt support to stakeholders on document submissions.
  • Escalate high-level requests to the appropriate business unit.
