The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a professional Accounts and Booking Clerk to join the provincial team in Durban. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in commercial subjects and a focus on fleet and financial administration within the public sector.

Accounts and Booking Clerk | Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Grade 12 with passed Commercial Subjects (Business Management, Economics, and Accounting) or an equivalent Certificate.
  • Knowledge Base:
    • Public Financial Management Act (PFMA).
    • Public Service Regulations and Departmental policies.
    • Foundational Project Management and Human Resource Development.
  • Core Skills:
    • Computer literacy and data accuracy.
    • Professional communication (verbal & written).
    • Problem-solving, initiative, and high level of discipline.
    • Client focus and attention to detail.

Accounts and Booking Clerk | Key Performance Areas (Duties)

  • Fleet Coordination: Manage and provide booking services for government vehicles within the province.
  • Financial Administration: Collect and verify information to prepare payments for service providers.
  • Compliance: Manage information regarding the payment of traffic fines and transport-related costs.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Disseminate information regarding newly developed policies and transport acts to relevant stakeholders.
