Main Purpose
To provide secretarial and administrative support to the Finance Unit and facilitate
the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the diary of the Head of Unit and the Unit
- Manage the filing system for the Chief Financial Officer and the relevant
documentation for the Unit - Prepare the necessary documentation for scheduled meetings
- Take minutes at meetings and distribute to the relevant role players
- Collate and submit relevant requests, files etc. with both internal and or
external auditors - Compile reports and information as directed in a timely manner to meet
government and internal reporting deadlines - Manage and maintain accurate and detailed records
- Take responsibility for arranging and coordinating all logistics for travel
arrangements for the Unit - Ensure data projectors and other equipment are available for meetings and
presentations - Compile a list of stationery requirements for the unit and order stationery
when required - Prepare requisitions and assist with purchase orders for goods and services.
- Prepare presentations for CFO.
- Prepare submissions and reports for the CFO to committees and Council.
- Preparation of packs for committee and Council meetings.
- Submissions of reports to stakeholders (DSAC and NT)
Qualifications and working experience
- Matric
- Accounting or bookkeeping qualification
- Administrative and/or Secretarial qualification
- 4-5 years’ relevant experience
- 2 years general accounting experience

Overview
The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) is contributing towards skills development by providing
graduates with an opportunity to gain work experience in Human Resources and Finance/ Supply Chain
Management. The NAC is therefore inviting applications for an Internship Programme that would run for
a period of twelve (12) months. Interns will be placed within the NAC offices in Newtown, Johannesburg.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting will be advantageous.
1× Supply Chain Management Intern
- National Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation Logistics
Management, Purchasing Management and/or related (3 years) is required.

The National Arts Council of South Africa is looking to attract a dynamic,
passionate, innovative, creative, self-starter with a solid understanding of the
Creative Industries Sector.
Job Function:
Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the creative industries sector as well as
a range of skills, such as organisational operations, effectiveness, plans, strategy,
business model development, project management, communications, and
planning.
Key outputs:
The candidate will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible and
accountable for the following:
- Define and clarify the insights that drive creative solutions and assist in
making a difference to the sector; - Work closely with the Communications and Marketing Unit to assemble
strategic insights; - Monitor organisational quarterly performance against targets set in the
Annual Performance Plan; - Coordinate quarterly reports, collate and file quarterly reporting verification
sources; - Act as an internal resource, championing the organisations content and
digital innovation whenever possible in collaboration with our IT Team; - Keep abreast of emerging behaviours and technologies, that are changing
the organisation’s stakeholder environment; - Select appropriate frameworks, tools and approaches to use in solving
organisational problems; - Support the CEO with performance monitoring and development of strategic
interventions, if required, to improve performance information of the
Council.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management and/or Public Management and
Governance. - Proven expertise in organisational operations, with 4-6 years working
experience in the creative industries sector. - The ability to implement internal systems and controls to ensure
organisational effectiveness. - Ability to utilise technology to drive key outputs.
